Congratulations to Ar. Marina Tabassum for being selected as one of the top 50 thinkers in Prospect Magazine. We feel proud of her prestigious achievement. She is the only Bangladeshi intellect in the list which was published on July 14. Ar. Marina Tabassum is well known for designing the Bait Ur Rouf Mosque in Dhaka which won Aga Khan Award for architecture.

Prospect said there is nothing like an emergency to make people realize the value of practical ideas and sharpest thinkers answer so many unknown questions freely. At the forefront of creating buildings in tune with their natural environments, Bangladeshi architect Tabassum also embraces the design challenges posed by what are collectively doing to the planet, the magazine said.

Ar. Marina also designed the Baitur Rauf Mosque, built of terracotta bricks in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. the mosque is flood-resistant, the magazine Prospect also said, “The design is reminiscent of the Sultanate period and won the Aga Khan Award for the mosque’s architecture.”

She has been running her architectural firm Marina Tabassum Architects (MTA). Ar. Marina also designed the Museum of Independence at Suhrawardy Udyan in collaboration with another architect Kashef Mahboob Chowdhury. Her work "Panigram Resort" is a socially and environmentally responsible project that represents the mud house as our cultural heritage.
